The gloves are going on…FINALLY.
Floyd Mayweather has stuck it to the reigning WBO Welterweight Champion Manny Pacquiao once again in a flurry of Twitter punches, with 50 Cent in his corner.
Top rank promoter Bob Arum flew to the Philippines to offer Pacquiao four different opponents for his next pay-per-view fight (none of which were Mayweather) but in a recent interview with Philboxing.com, Pacman made it loud and clear that Floyd was still the focus.
“I’ve said this over and over before and I’m saying this again, I want Floyd Mayweather Jnr to be my next opponent and I haven’t changed my choice despite recent developments,” Pacquiao said.
“I am meeting with my promoter, Bob Arum, and I will insist that the fight with Mayweather be given the preference. Whoever the fans want me to fight, I will face him atop the ring. [However] I don’t choose the fight. It is my promoter who does because it’s his job. My job is to fight, everybody must realize that.”
This mutual (though unofficial) consent surely changes everything. Consider May 5th bookmarked.
